Supervision

How Supervision Might Help:

The purpose of supervision is to help develop the work of psychotherapists and counsellors. Inevitably, therapists will feel a stuckness in their work with others, or they will find themselves drawn into enactments they need help in understanding.

Finding good supervision means there is support for your practice, both for you and your clients, that comes from being able to reflect on it. The sense of containment this brings is a crucial requirement for the development of therapists.

We’ll find a way of working that builds on your existing training and your therapeutic style and provide additional reflections, perspectives and dimensions that can be integrated into your thinking and taken back into your practice.

Supervision is usually established as a regular, ongoing arrangement, but I also provide clinical consultations on a less frequent or short-term basis. I also work with small supervision groups as well as one-to-one. If you are interested, get in touch with me so we can have a discussion.

How I Work:

My supervisory framework is an integration of my training and practice as a psychodynamic psychotherapist alongside the relational psychoanalytic, body psychotherapy and Gestalt therapy approaches that have influenced my theoretical development since.

My supervisory style includes working with both concious, verbal content in the sessions but also the unconscious, non-verbal content. This is from both the therapy relationship but also comes up in valuable ways in the supervisory relationship.

Supervision is usually established as a monthly or fortnightly arrangement, but there is also scope for clinical consultations on a less frequent or short-term basis. If you are interested in having a conversation to explore whether we could work together then please contact me here.

In our initial conversation, we would get an idea of your practice as a whole, of your training and style of working and then discuss how my approach and style as a supervisor could be helpful. My fees are £70 for 60 minutes, and £105 for 90 minute sessions.
