About Me
Si Rutter
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist & Supervisor
My interest in psychoanalysis is long-standing one. Prior to my clinical training, I pursued an academic career
This website also contains writing on matters connected to psychotherapy. Much of this work focuses upon the impact of the social, the economic and the political upon the individual, being particularly stirred by the ways in which the psy-sciences (psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, psychiatry) can act in oppressive ways on the person. This means I critique the profession of which I am a part.
Qualifications & Experience
My clinical training in Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy (MSc) was completed at Birkbeck, University Of London in 2016. Prior to this, I graduated from the University Of Sussex with an MA in Social & Political Thought in 2012 and from the Open University with a BSc in Psychology (1st) in 2010.
My supervision training was undertaken at the Gestalt Centre in London and I continue to work as part of supervision and development groups as well as attending trainings and conferences to continue my professional development. Before setting up in private practice in Manchester, I worked in both the public and third sectors. I also write on matters relating to therapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards.
